About

Hi, I’m Max Stoneman, registered psychologist and founder of Maverick Therapy.

My approach is grounded in evidence-based practices, tailored to your unique needs. I work with adolescents and adults navigating anxiety, depression, major life transitions, relationship challenges, depression, or those who simply want to thrive more fully. I walk alongside you with compassion, clarity, and respect in a safe, non-judgmental space.

I also offer sport and performance psychology, helping competitive athletes, emerging talents, coaches, and high-pressure professionals build key mental skills such as:

  • Managing performance pressure and anxiety

  • Enhancing focus, motivation, and confidence

  • Building resilience after setbacks

  • Optimising pre-competition routines and mental preparation

I also accept Mental Health Care Plans and can see clients in either the Kangaroo Point or Boondall Clinic, and online.

Whether you’re seeking personal wellbeing or the mental edge to perform at your best, I’m here to support you every step of the way.

Meet tilda

Tilda is the ultimate good girl! Some days, she graces the clinic with her waggy tail and big, brown eyes. If you’re a fan of warm cuddles, Tilda will happily snuggle up and share all the love she can. Prefer to simply admire her from afar? No problem, she’s more than happy to sleep through the session.
